Dr. Gail McLaurin, DMD, originally received her degree in Dental Hygiene from Armstrong State College in Savannah, G.A., After working as a hygienist for 4 years, she decided to get her Doctoral Degree from The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. Here, she was the first female President of the American Student Dental Association and a member of the Psi Omega Dental Fraternity. M.U.S.C. awarded her the John Robert Jordan Award for “Dedication to the service of his fellow man, pride in his profession, loyalty to his profession.” She also received an award from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons for “outstanding achievement in the undergraduate studies and clinical training of this specialized area of clinical education.”
Dr. McLaurin did a hospital residency at the VA Medical Center in Philadelphia, P.A. She completed her Periodontal specialty training at the postdoctoral dental program at Emory University in Atlanta G.A. and has been in practice in Atlanta since 1992.
Dr. McLaurin is the recipient of an Outstanding Citizen’s Award from the Georgia Secretary of State and a Georgia State Resolution for the services to the community and to women victims of domestic violence.
